This past Saturday, Noel held its first Greater Gift Market, with merchandise from Bead For Life, Ten Thousand Villages and Two Hands Worldshop.
The one-stop shopping experience featured artisans and farmers from around the world. All of the items featured were certified as Fair Trade merchandise, which means the artisans were paid a fair wage for their craftsmanship or farming and have had a safe and healthy working environment for producing their goods.
Fair Trade is a strategy for poverty alleviation and sustainable development around the globe. In addition, there were opportunities to purchase alternative gift items from VOA, Heifer International and our own Food Pantry.
A percentage of the profit from Ten Thousand Villages and Two Hands Worldshop is being returned to Noel's Neighborhood Ministries program for service to our immediate community.
